How we help
Gather your data
We work from exchange and wallet exports and help you pull together the full history.
Calculate gains properly
We apply HMRC’s matching and pooling rules, which generic tools often get wrong for swaps and transfers between wallets.
File your return
Gains and income reported correctly on your Self Assessment return.
Fix past years
If earlier years were missed, we help you disclose to HMRC and keep penalties as low as possible.
Crypto tax FAQs
- Do I pay tax when I swap one crypto for another?
- Yes. A crypto-to-crypto swap is a disposal for Capital Gains Tax, even though no pounds changed hands.
- Does HMRC know about my crypto?
- HMRC already receives data from exchanges, and from 1 January 2026 UK crypto service providers must collect user details and report transactions to HMRC under new rules.
- Is moving crypto between my own wallets taxable?
- No, moving between your own wallets is not a disposal, but it needs tracking so the pooled cost stays correct.
- I have not reported crypto before. What should I do?
- Speak to us. A voluntary disclosure before HMRC contacts you usually means lower penalties.
