What we do for start-ups

Choose the right structure

We compare sole trader and limited company using your expected profits, so you know the tax and admin either way.

Form your company

Articles, share structure and registered office sorted, including our registered office address if you want one.

Register with HMRC

Corporation tax, PAYE for directors or staff, and VAT where it makes sense.

Set up your systems

Xero, bank feeds and Dext receipt capture, so your books are right from the first month.

After you launch

Once you are trading, you can move onto our bookkeeping and limited company accounts service, with a fixed monthly fee. Sole traders can see our sole trader accounts page and tax calculator.

Start-up FAQs

Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on your expected profits, how much you want to draw and your appetite for admin. A limited company can save tax at higher profits but has more paperwork. We compare both for you.
How long does it take to form a company?
Online incorporation is usually quick once the identity checks for directors and people with significant control are complete.
Do I need to register for VAT straight away?
Only if your taxable turnover will go over £90,000, but registering voluntarily can make sense if your customers are VAT registered.
Can you help with a business bank account?
We can recommend options and set up bank feeds into Xero once it is open.
