Digivolve Accountants are recruiting for a Practice Accountant to join our small friendly firm of accountants based in Haywards Heath. Due to ongoing growth within the company, we are looking for a ACA qualified accountant with prior practice experience.

Duties

  • Personal Tax Returns
  • Manage deadlines
  • Limited Company Accounts
  • Support other junior members of staff
  • Completing CIS returns
  • VAT preparation and returns
  • Processing clients payroll
  • Review bookkeepers work
  • Keeping clients up to date with their business’s performance
  • Manage a portfolio of clients

Practice Accountant Requirements

  • 2 years experience within an Accountancy Practice is essential
  • Confident using Xero essential and Quickbooks desirable
  • ACA qualified
  • You must be within a commutable distance of Haywards Heath.

Remuneration

  • Office hours Monday to Friday 9:00am – 17:30pm
  • Full time, Part time, school hours employed permanent position

Practice Bookkeeper

Digivolve Accountants are recruiting for a Senior Practice Bookkeeper to join our small friendly firm of accountants based in Haywards Heath. Due to ongoing growth within the company, we are looking for a Bookkeeper with prior practice experience.

As an experienced Bookkeeper you will be performing bookkeeping tasks for a portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for a combination of bookkeeping and payroll tasks, reporting to the Director.

Bookkeeping Duties

  • Bookkeeping through to trial balance stage
  • Confident reviewing the P&L and Balance sheet
  • Competent posting prepayments and accruals
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Completing CIS returns
  • VAT preparation and returns
  • Processing clients payroll
  • Reconciling sales invoices, receipts and payments
  • Keeping clients up to date with their business’s performance

Practice Bookkeeper Requirements

  • 2 years Bookkeeping experience within an Accountancy Practice is essential
  • Confident using Xero essential and Quickbooks desirable
  • AAT Bookkeeping qualifications or qualified by experience

Apprentice Accountant with day release to college course for AAT

    Job title: AAT Apprentice

    Status: Full time, permanent, office based – Haywards Heath

    Start date: TBC

    Purpose of Job:

    This is a new role that presents an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our organisation at a pivotal time in ours and their development and growth. We are looking for someone who wants to grow and develop their long-term career in finance with us.

    You will have an enquiring mind and genuine enthusiasm for providing high quality financial and administrative support. You will be interested in processing, accounting, monitoring and presenting financial information. Your role will involve data entry and transaction processing, to assist and support the Accountant(s) to provide accurate, up to date and timely financial information as part of accounts preparation.

    You will be supported by experienced staff who can assist you with your work and study to give you the experience required to be successful within the role. You will also be trained to use various IT systems that support the efficient delivery of our services.

    Main Duties:

    • Undertake administrative duties as required and as part of the infrastructure team.
    • Provide support to customers and suppliers by responding to enquires.
    • Proactively seek opportunities to assist your team.
    • Support with the maintenance and reconciliation of accounting records
    • Record keeping supporting the preparation of year end accounts
    • Supporting the development of information to enable financial management information to service clients
    • Support the maintenance and development of financial records and systems
    • Support and understand the preparation of Government returns
    • Provision of information to support financial management and advice
    • Gain an understanding of treasury management.
    • Gain an understanding of VAT and taxation.
    • To undertake suitable training and development, both specialist/technical and to further improve interpersonal/management skills, in accordance with training and development strategies which may be implemented from time to time.

    The job holder will be expected to:

    • To complete all required elements of the agreed apprenticeship training and attend any college or training events as directected.
    • To act in accordance with Digivolve policies and other Codes of Conduct
    • To participate in staff development, appraisal and training as appropriate, including continuous professional development.
